SHNA recently sponsored a poster contest at Sam Hughes School. The theme of the contest was neighborhood safety, which has also been the focus of News on Hughes. The three winners of the contest and their slogans are:
Peter Chipman: Keep our neighborhood safe by only crossing the street when the light is green.
Leslie Pille: Keep our neighborhood safe by stopping bullying.
Jennifer Wong: Keep our neighborhood safe by not running through the busy street.
Each winner received a $25.00 gift certificate to Kids' Center.
The winning posters will be on exhibit at Sam Hughes School and other local businesses.
