SHNA Annual Meeting Minutes January 19, 2010, Meeting called to order at 7 p.m. by President John O'Dowd, who introduced special guests Teresa Olson (Ward 6 Council office), Janet Jordan (Principal, SH Elem. School), Steve Tofel (Tofel Construction), Officer Sean Shields (UAPD), and the presenter Kendall Kroesen, Tucson Audubon Society. Following a half hour of socializing, refreshments and informational kiosks, "The Birds and Habitat of the Sam Hughes Neighborhood" was presented by Kendall Kroesen, Restoration Program Manager, Tucson Audubon Society. A business meeting was called to order at 8 p.m. by President O'Dowd, followed by introduction of the 2009 board and his report. Board members present were John O'Dowd, Rick Bell, Frank Soltys, Carolyn Classen, Sheila Hoban, Sylvia Mungaray, Wallis Downer, Janett Carbajal, Kathi McLaughlin, and Steve Gilsdorf. Board members absent were Gail Schuessler, John Wilder, Doug Donahue, and Ed Stokes. Skip Andre, Nominating Committee Chair, presented the proposed slate of board members and asked for nominations from the floor. There being no further nominations, the new board was voted in by acclamation and consists of the following: Rick Bell, Janett Carbajal, Carolyn Classen, Doug Donahue, Wallis Downer, John O’Dowd, Steve Gilsdorf, Sheila Hoban, Kathi McLaughlin, Sylvia Mungaray, Gail Schuessler, Frank Soltys, Ed Stokes, and John Wilder.
